1 Point Perspective
Perspective is a means by which the artist can create the concept of depth, the third dimension, on a two dimensional surface. Since a drawing surface is flat it really only has height and width. Perspective introduces the concept of going into the drawing surface by adding depth.We are most familiar with this concept when we look down a road or railroad track. Even though we know the width of the road or track is constant it appears to form a triangle as we look ahead. See the illustration to the right.
